Choose by the job in front of you

A portable power station is a battery, inverter, charger and control system in one enclosure. The useful question is not “which brand is best?” It is “what must run, for how long, and under what conditions?” Use the paths below to begin with a concrete decision.

The two numbers that decide most purchases

Output / WCan it start and run the load?

Continuous output covers the sustained demand. Surge or peak output covers short startup events from motors and compressors.

Battery / WhHow long can it run?

Watt-hours are the energy tank. Usable runtime is lower after inverter losses, conversion losses and the reserve you keep in the battery.

Specifications are only useful when they are attached to your load. A large battery cannot overcome an undersized inverter, and a powerful inverter does not create more energy. Keep those two constraints separate.
